Research standard

Changing rules are checked against the organisation responsible for them: councils for local restrictions, transport operators for carriage conditions, and government sources for law or border rules. We link those sources and show a checked date. Accommodation descriptions are never treated as proof of fencing, access or availability.

Experience and evidence

We distinguish an on-the-ground visit from desk research. A guide does not imply our editorial desk has stayed at every place it discusses. We do not create fictional authors or manufacture first-person anecdotes to make an article appear lived-in.

Recommendations

A recommendation must explain who it suits, what was compared and which drawback might change the decision. We do not publish paid rankings, fake scores or manufactured urgency. Prices and policies change — confirm them with the provider before paying.

Corrections and review

Rules-heavy pages are prioritised for seasonal review; general planning guides are reviewed at least twice a year. Material corrections are incorporated promptly, and the visible checked date reflects a substantive review, not an automatic timestamp.

Affiliate independence

Affiliate commission, if introduced, may fund the site but will not determine coverage, placement or tone. See the affiliate disclosure for how links would be labelled.

Field notes, not sales copy

Plan the break around the dog in front of you.

We turn vague pet-friendly promises into practical questions: boundaries, walks, noise, travel and the rules worth checking twice.
